I know that people want fair and honest property values for a change. Having doorbelled for the local school district this year, I know people don’t trust their property assessments. I want to fix the Assessor’s Office by bringing real leadership and problem solving skills to this necessary function of government.
I am not a bureaucrat, but I do bring real world, small business leadership and experience to this job. For nearly three years our county has been in a recession and the Assessor has been the only one who doesn’t seem to know.
My plan for the Assessor’s Office is based on careful research and common sense. First, property values must be fair and accurate. Secondly, the office must be run efficiently and follow the law. Finally, this office must be committed to customer service.
I won’t forget that the Assessor works for the taxpayers, not against them.
